Wonderful artworks - we visited during the 400th anniversary Festival Cervantino (named after Cervantes wrote Don Quiote) and saw special exhibits includoing 2 rooms full of Quiote related Salvador Dali works. Also many other artists, fabulous traditional and even more fabulous and interesting contemporary works in 2D and 3D. Nive open cafe space to have a treat or just to... 更多
We were in Guanajuato for their famous festival Cervantino so this museum was one of the main attractions for us. We enjoyed the art, and the great coffee shop located on a beautiful courtyard, and had the best coffee and hit chocolate in town.
I wasn't expecting much but this turned out to be a really enjoyable stop. I didn't know that Don Quixote was such a well-loved figure in the Spanish world. There's some really beautiful and whimsical sculptures and paintings from all over the world. The different artists' interpretations were really fun and provocative.
This museum contains a very pleasant collection of works depicting Quixote and Sancho Panza. The galleries are very nice. However there is little information about either Quixote or Cervantes.
Start in Room 1, which is easy to walk right by after you buy your ticket (30 pesos) in the gift shop. A few paragraphs on the wall give an important introduction to the museum, and even to why Guanajuato calls itself the Cervantes center of the Americas. Then wander through the galleries and discover the many artists who have... 更多
I have always been a fan of Don Quixote but who ever thought that one could dedicate an entire museum to this fantastic character? Full of paintings, drawings, sculptures and iconography it was fun to see the myriad of artistic interpretations of the Don and Sancho Panza. Follow up your visit with a coffee and sweet treat at Sette-caffe Espresso... 更多
This museum is a collection of art inspired by the novel and its characters, both from Spain and Latin America. The collection is beautifully selected, and much of the art is truly worth seeing on its own.
High quality artwork of the demented and clueless Don Quixote. It is a lovely museum and a great way to spend an hour. Even better if you have read the book.
Honestly there's not a whole lot to do in GTO if you don't visit museums. I'm not museum person and have very little interest in history. You may ask why do you choose to visit GTO? Well....because it is beautiful. Although I have no interest in museums and I had no idea who Quixote is, I find this place quite... 更多
I am not a huge museum-goer and I have to admit I arrived not even knowing the story of Don Quixote. This place far exceeded my expectations. First of all, it is more of a gallery than a museum. The building itself is beautiful and the hundreds of Don Quixote paintings, sculptures, murals and manuscripts are of very high quality.... 更多
