I spend six weeks living in Guadalajara to improve my Spanish and had grown tried of city life. Barranca de Oblatos came up on my search of things to do around the city. It is located on the far side of the city near the zoo. To save money I took the mega bus toward the zoo and then used... 更多

Very good trip to do in winter season, it takes 1 or + hour to descend and 2 hours or more to climb up. Its a really good exercise you need to be prepared for, using running shoes, bringing water, going slow and stopping to enjoy the landscape. I have seen entire families with small children doing the trip, but... 更多

We went all the way down the hill. It was fun. The problem was going back to where we started. The best is the fresh aire. Beautiful nature.

This place is amazing, even more so on the rainy season (Jun-Sept). It has numerous hiking trails; some easy and short, others grueling, steep and long. This is a great way to burn off some calories while marveling at the scenery and one of the steepest railways on the continent. If you're up to the challenge, and have at least... 更多

I come from Southern California. I am no stranger to a good hike. I was delightfully surprised by the green thick vegetation. Impressed by the many bright and colorful flowers that lined the rocky and at times very narrow trails. We traveled down the north less traveled trail. More difficult cause of the steep inclines and as it had rained... 更多

I loved the view of the canyon. It's pretty spectacular. I got an Uber car out to the entrance, although I know buses go there too. There seem to be tents for homeless people when you start the descending trail. I heard warnings about safety, but when I went in the morning it seemed fine and there were loads of... 更多

There is a car park outside the entry. And multiple bus routes to get there. I think 631 takes you to the entry. the walk is in two parts, downhill and then uphill. If you go to the mirador consider walking back out if not fit. Otherwise can become really strenous and very long walk up steep hill. the guardabosques... 更多

How can I hide in a beautiful canyon be anything other than five points you asked? +Unmarked trail leading to nowhere. +Overflowing garbage cans. +The faint sound of waterfalls with the smell of sewage. I followed the cobblestone trail on its slow descent into the canyon. Everytime I caught the faint sound of flowing water I also caught the distinct... 更多

The barranca is a must see when I visit family in Guadalajara. It is particularly beautiful during the rainy season (June-August). You need to be fit to make the 600m steep ascent. Go early morning, because it gets really hot after 11:00 am. Bring proper walking shoes, because you'll be walking on an uneven cobblestone trail. The main trails are... 更多

Great hike! 600 meter change in elevation so it is good workout and I recommend that you go early in the morning when its cool! Wear good shoes as there are lots of rocks and a steep path. Also take some water and a snack, though there are a few vendors at the top selling water and juices. I went... 更多
