There's shows here on weekend evenings that have a lot of nationals attending. Comedians will do physical comedy that transcends linguistic barriers. The views of the bay here are great too. Evenings people will set up carts hawking souvenirs and local food dishes. Don't miss it.
This plaza is at the end of the malecon and is a great place to catch your breath before carrying on to the Cuale river flea market area. Great photo opportunity for a picture of the Church which is beautiful in its own right.
In the middle of everything. The shops, restaurants, tourist information and the flair of the city. The entertainment, art, and crafts are all on display. Only block from the Opal Mine, the Churches, and the entrance to the old town market along the river. The sculptures along the boardwalk are all impressive.
This is almost center of the malecon. At night you will see many vendors with anything from food to trinkets and everything in-between. You will see artists paint with brushes, spray cans and just their fingers. Looking away from the beach you will see the central cathedral a 2 blocks up the hill. It has a small theater type structure...
This is a great place to pause and sit for a bit while shopping and sightseeing. There were so many street vendors! I like to people watch a little, so it is great for that. There is not a lot of shade, so wear a fabulous hat!
