We stopped at this Nature Center on our van tour of the island. It is a must-see for people interested in the vegetation of the islands. The guides are very knowledgeable about the different plants that grow on the island and the different ways you can use then to treat medical ailments. There are some resident injured animals that you... 更多
This 100 acre planted refuge was the antidote to the scheduled activities of our cruise and resort time. We saw many labeled plants and using a bird guide we purchased at the nature center spotted a good number of species. There was evidence of much needed rebirth and imminent expansion of the grounds . The center has good exhibits and... 更多
Don't trust the maps - I think they are not to scale. Figured we would walk up from Ocean Reef and I think it ended up being 2.5 to 3 miles. Really enjoyed the turtles at the pond, as well as checking out all of the different birds. Highpoint was seeing the "local" hummingbirds. On the walk up we also... 更多
nicely planned out trek through the woods with some knowledge of local birds trees and wild life nice old church on grounds and at the end again you can shop a small out door restaurant for light food and drinks
We have been to MANY nature centers, and this by far was the least impressive! Judging by the score this nature center have, I must be the odd man out! I'm sorry, I could see much more wildlife on my back porch at any given minute!
Nice hike/walk through the fauna to pond. Very hot during the day...hike in the morning. A few caged birds but not too much else to see. Also a small art gallery from the founder of the nature center.
We stopped here as part of a tour of the city. I wish we had more time to walk the paths. I didn't see but just a couple caged birds and some flora. *I think some previous reviewers have commented under the wrong nature park. This is NOT the one across from Gold Rock Beach, no bat caves or roaming... 更多
The Rand Nature Center is 100 acres right in Freeport a short distance from the airport. There are nice walking trails (self guided with a map) and interpretive signs to familiarize you with Bahamian plants and birds. There is a visitor center with books and other gifts for sale, and restrooms. No food services that I saw. No steps, wheelchair... 更多
