Coral Bay is so quaint and it is much quieter than the Cruz Bay side. The only 2 downsides to Coral Bay are the smell of the mangroves by the dumpsters that you HAVE to pass (just take a deep breath and hold), and you can't see sunset here. The views are awesome! I love the donkeys and goats on... 更多
it is a bit of a drive from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay (about 45 minutes, give or take depending on how many donkeys are in the road) but it is well worth it to experience this side of the island. Several nice bars and great beaches and trails, very nice for snorkeling. Several nice little shops as well. makes... 更多
We stayed in Coral Bay for three nights at a wonderful VRBO and loved the area. The roads are HILLY and not for the faint of heart, but you will so enjoy the scenery and views. Take a charter boat out for access to incredible snorkeling spots (we recommend Pirate Girl). Things do close a bit early here, but you... 更多
Coral Bay is lush and beautiful. The roads are steep and hairpin turns are the norm - not for the faint of heart. Every inch of the island offers postcard views. You will find wild chickens, goats and donkeys everywhere and the most gorgeous beaches with very few people.
If you appreciate natural beauty, Coral Bay will satisfy! I stunning and pristine natural harbor, this bay was the original major bay on St. John. About 8 miles from Cruz Bay, the natural beauty and relative lack of developmenmt make it a rare and stunning experience. Sunrises are spectacular!
We have been to St. John twice and both times stayed in Coral Bay. It is much quieter than Cruz Bay and has some lovely little restaurants and beautiful views.
They say the "townies" never visit this small town on the east side of St. John. It is quiet and small and the only souvenirs are the beachwear and beach supplies. Not to mention, the road is curvy and steep to get there, Even though it is less than 8 miles to get there, it is a half hour drive... 更多
It would be a shame to simply remain in Cruz Bay when visiting St John, USVI. Coral Bay has a TON to offer as well and is Well Worth the Treck Across the Island. Recommended!
My husband and I stayed on Coral Bay in an AirBNB for 3 nights. We wish we stayed longer. We are in our early thirties and prefer more of the quiet areas with less tourists. It's about 20-25 minute drive from Cruz Bay. We rented a Jeep in St. Thomas and then took the car ferry (paid $50 for round-trip... 更多
If you prefer to stay away from the hustle-and-bustle (often more touristy) side of places, then you should choose the Coral Bay side when vacationing in beautiful St.John. Just rent a jeep when you arrive and make your way to Coral Bay - a 20 minute ride away. This side is where many of the locals (and expats) live. You... 更多
