This was a fun place to visit, there were no ships in port the day we visited and we were glad, we did not get to see all the shops and vendors, but were able to enjoy the peacefulness. The water is so pretty and blue and clear here, we saw scuba divers and snorkelers, this is supposed to be... 更多
This is a great place to snorkel. The water is usually much calmer here since it is on the West end of the island. Try ere if the North side is rough. Enter next to the pier on either side. You will find most of the fish, and I mean thousands actually around the pillars supporting the pier as well... 更多
This really is the best place to snorkel, especially if you are looking for chaney. It's peaceful waters are usually protected from the choppy waters on the other side of the island.
Before exploring the Frederiksted Pier, I'd go to aquariums and think "oh, this is cool, but it's all concentrated here, the sea can't possibly be that amazing". After just snorkeling the pier (let alone diving), I'm now jaded. Spectacular colors, amazing schools of fish, sea turtles, the occasional octopus, even an awesome gnarly looking barracuda who hangs out in the... 更多
Fredrikested is very, very relaxed when no cruise ship has landed. With the ships the town opens up and a market stands, shops open, music playing and cafes/restaurants are open. It's different! The museum at the pier gives you a very good lesson of this island's slave history.
Great pier to watch cruise ships come in or out, great shops to visit, wonderful scuba diving and snorkling opportunities! See fish, barracuda, turtle, etc while swimmi g around the pier. And 2-3 dive shops just yards away.
Several people recommended jumping off the pier, and snorkeling around the new and old pier pilings. Lots of sea creatures, including a barracuda or two. Access to pier for snorkeling is prohibited when a cruise ship is in port. At other times, watch out for the hot-dog motorboat drivers who cut a little too close to the swimmers. We heard... 更多
It's hard to believe that there could be so much sea life, and such a variety of it, hanging out and on the Frederiksted Pier. This is my favorite dive on St Croix, and for that matter, my favorite shore dive in the Caribbean. While the entry and exit can be a bit of a challenge, once you are in,... 更多
Very quiet town when ship is not in port! You have to snorkel or dive the pier! Enter the small beach on the left side of the pier and snorkel the rim of the pier. The concrete pillars are full of coral which attracts schools of fish! We saw an octopus, puffer fish, sea turtle and even and eel. Make... 更多
