Whether it be a cultural exhibit, a mini street-concert, old men playing chess under the trees, or a homeless guy dancing to the music of another nearby activity, located in the heart of Trinidad & Tobago's capital of Port of Spain, the Brian Lara Promenade always full of activity.
...and if you believe I'm kidding about any of my above...
The promenade is a great place to sit and relax with friends or family. There are nice flowers along the walkway along with a statue of Brian Lara at the end of the promenade. It's not far from the Radisson hotel and a cool walk to the stadium.
This place has an awful stench! I keep wonder if this is indeed the Capital of this country! It is filled with idlers & people who sit on the benches all day doing God knows what. I just try to pass quickly when I'm there. This place needs to be upgraded & power-washed at some point!
Its a lovely walkway through the city of Port of Spain, away from the busy streets and pavements, its lined with trees and seating accommodation. You charge your phones on the poles for the lights. Do not visit during the nights, there are lots of destitute people at night.
