Not alot to see, but the war memorial is to the people on Nevis who fell in the great war. Worth a visit, on a walk round Charles town. There are seats in the square so you can sit if you need . However unlike European squares there are no pavement cafes and tables and chairs.
A small square in the center of the old town surrounded by the court and library buildings. The square itself has a colonial feel to it, it has a heavy chain fence, more decorative than functional. There are benches and large trees that provide shade.
A memorial to the dead from the World Wars.
We were lucky enough to be here when the Culturama festival was on & Memorial Square is the focal point for a lot of the events, such as Poets in the Square, steel bands, clown dancing etc.
On other days it is just a good place to sit under the trees out of the sun and watch people going about...
if you love people watching and have nothing else to do...then sitting in the square and soaking up the environment is a good time filler.....although its surrounded by traffic and the accompanying exhaust smells etc....many locals find time to sit and cogitate or to meet here and to eat lunch or have a drink...its shady and has a few artifacts...
