Fun to see the different island vegitation all in one small place, about a city block. Score (3 of 5) is relative to other world botanical gardens. IT gets 5 of 5 for things to do in Roadtown.
In the town centre, the Botanic Gardens are a pleasant place to wander in the shade. The gardens are well maintained and offer an interesting collection of tropical plants. The recommended route takes about an hour to follow, but of course, if you have time to spare, you can linger for longer!
Having docked early on a very hot Sunday we decided to walk to the botanical garden in Tortola as the shops were all shut, so no shopping today. Leaving the ship just after 10am we walked to the nearby park and sat for a short while watching the world go by, we the made our way out of town following... 更多
Although many of the flowers have past their peak, we found tons of beautiful plants and blooms to observe. It's a very small Botanical garden but well worth the trip to see Birds of Paradise and an enormous, breathtaking Banyan Tree to name a few. We also saw turtles, fish and tons of lizards! Friendly front office staff helped us... 更多
We loved it and would recommend it if you get to Road Town! Amazing plantlife and some small animals, turtles, & fish to boot! Not huge, but plenty large enough for a nice walk around the paths and so many varieties of vegetation to enjoy. Peaceful, relaxing, and wonderful.
It's a very easy walk from the cruise ship terminal. $3 entry fee. It's nice but not a very large garden. Worth $3 fee but not if it was more. There wasn't a ton of stuff blooming, but still some interesting plants.
For only $3 take a nice walk among the flowers and trees. Take photos of some brilliant flowers and unusual tropical fruits. See the fish pond and turtles. The staff are so nice and welcoming and we enjoyed a chat with the gift shop lady.
Spent ages driving around the area the gardens are supposed to be in according to the map, but couldn't find it. Eventually decided if it was really worth a visit, they would put up a few directional signposts. Pity.
We visited with a couple who had previously visited the Gardens. They said they weren't as good as their previous visit. The staff explained that weather had taken a toll. Restrooms were clean and modern.
