Down a remote dirt road, but worth every effort. Clean. Quiet with pretty calm water. Not the best snorkeling we've experienced. My husband got stung by fire coral after being washed into the coral by a wave. Calm enough water for our 4 yr old to swim. Had the beach to ourself one morning but usually had a most 10... 更多
During our stay, we virtually had Smuggler's Cove to ourselves! Snorkeling, swimming, sitting on the beach all with very few people but ourselves. Even though getting there takes a little determination and confidence that you are not heading down a road to nowhere, it is well worth the effort to spend time on a tranquil, quiet beach with as much... 更多
This quiet beach is a hidden gem which has excellent snorkeling opportunities. As another traveler recommended, it is best to bring your own food and snorkeling gear to this beach, as the local food stands and shops seemed to be closed for the season or permanently when we were there. The water at the beach is a clear turquoise, which... 更多
We hiked to Smuggler's Cove on 8/20/16 from Sebastian's by the Sea (just under 2 miles). The beach and bay were beautiful and I highly recommend them to anyone visiting western Tortola. It is easy to find but I encourage taking a car instead of hiking because the hills are pretty intense. Some of the best shells we found on... 更多
If you haven't been to Smuggler's Cove, you haven't really been to Tortola. Take advantage of the beautiful clear water and go snorkeling. This is the best beach in Tortola to snorkel.
i read the other reviews and was very excited to go. we went first to Cave Beach, then Long, then agreed to sit for a spell at Smugglers. Hired a taxi for 7 from cruise pier, found the road bumpy but tolerable. Beautiful views, secluded, and hardly anyone around (off season). The only issue was lack of bathroom facilities, and... 更多
The word is out about Smuggler's Cove...or may be it was the first day of the Emancipation holiday...but it was the most crowded beach we've seen in the weeks we spent on Tortola. It remains hard to find, but it is worth the trip...even to come back again. After Long Bay there is a hand lettered sign on the left... 更多
Difficult to get to, but the very rough track is worth it. The bay is beautiful, though while we were there it was quite windy. Difficult to beat in many respects.
