Perhaps we shouldn't have been surprised at the unwelcoming reception at the Distillery; their website isn't too easy to navigate and certainly doesn't give off the usual St Lucian welcoming vibe. We'd hired a car (so weren't planning to taste *too* many rums!) but when we arrived at around 12.30pm on Wednesday, we had to wait while the two people... 更多
Arrived in St Lucia last Friday evening with the intention of visiting the distillery on the way back to the airport last Tuesday. Made arrangements with our driver to pick us up early, take us to the distillery and drop us off at the airport in time for our early evening flight. So using the phone number in my guide... 更多
Others have reviewed "...stay away..." and they're right for the greater part. The only reason I'd give it an extra point over 'Terrible' would be if you wanted to stock up on some good value rum, the trip and tasting session is worthwhile. If you want a deeper history knowledge of the process etc. don't bother. My husband echoes what... 更多
Quite a bargain, rum tasting of 17 rums for $4. We did not go on the tour, but it appears that they do the rum tasting almost any time during the day. Great variety in rums. Banana, coconut flavored, coffee flavored, etc. Our tour guide just took us there, no planning; just asked who was interested.
First, be sure you look for the signs. It took a couple of drive bys to find the turn. Call before you do a tour as they do not run regular schedules. I will say we were staying in the area and it was a fun outing; however, I am not sure it would be worth a long drive. The... 更多
I like rum, real rum. Not rum punch, not mixed rum and certainly not flavoured rum. But a beautiful natural flavored rum on ice or neat. That being said I like Admiral Rodney's and 1931 rum. Both are really nice, and are part of the St Lucia Distillers Group that runs this distillery so I was really interested in the... 更多
We went to take part in the Rum Tour, but apparently they open at 8:30am and then close for lunch from 12-2pm and will only do another tour right after their lunch ends. So basically, we never got to do the tour.
I have visited this place 4 times and never once made it to the distillery to find out the history of this place (lol). I always go right to the tasting room, each time I have gone with different groups of people we have a such a good time tasting the rum it makes the day even better. I always tell... 更多
The tour is interesting and the guide answers all our questions. You can taste as much rum as you like, but hard to do that in the middle of the day. I don't think it was worth the 11 US dollars per person. I would say a max of 5 bucks would have been more than enough.
