The Green Grotto Caves are fascinating and fun to learn about while caving through. There are interesting stories of the caves and its history. When you go visiting, just remember not to scream when the bats get too friendly and come over to say hi. I enjoyed the experience.
This is a must do on any short list of cultural and historic sites in Jamaica. The Green Grotto Caves were once used as a sanctuary for runaway slaves, a hideout and escape route for Spanish soldiers trying to escape capture from the English, and a night club, until it was deemed a National Landmark and became a guided part... 更多
Took this tour as part of a cruise shore excursion. Chedd made the history of this cave system very interesting. From runaway slaves to Bond films to a night club and now a tourist attraction. Quite an enjoyable walk in spite of a rainy day.
From a historical perspective, these caves are significant and the story is interesting. From a visual perspective, these caves are not very appealing in my opinion, having seen several other cave attractions in other countries. These ones are really quite bland. Our guide was friendly, but it felt like he was trying too hard. In all fairness, I would not go... 更多
We weren't exactly sure what to expect a green cave? a wet cave? But it was neither. The tour guide made the excursion entertaining and fun. Lots of history. Be prepared to cover your hair with a hairnet and hard hat. In some areas the ceiling is low and you may get a bump on the head if you're not... 更多
If you go on your own ( not with a tour ) admission is $20 per person and $12 for children up to and including 12 years old. You can purchase snacks and there is a small gift shop. You will go as a group on a tour and hear the history of the caves which are not extremely hot... 更多
My family and I visited the caves on August 5th. The staff was very warm and friendly and the facilities were well-maintained. Our tour guide, Jason, was very knowledgable and although he said history was not his favorite subject, it was hard to tell. We learned quite a bit not just about bats, but about the history of the caves.... 更多

The caves are authentic and a very different tour from anything else we have done. The total tour is about 3/4 of a mile and less than one hour and the guide takes you through two separate caves giving the historical use by the native Tainos, runaway slaves, the Spanish and the British during the days of slavery. The trek... 更多
