There's nothing there just the monument/light house that hasn't been on for years. If you choose you can go during the day for some nice pictures but me personally will probably keep on going to Tres Ojos Which has a much better view.
What a boring place and waste of time. Not allowed inside. Not much to look at outside. Just standing outside in the heat looking at this huge building called the light house. Because it has lights on the top. No one is even sure if it is Christopher Columbus's remains inside.....
From what we saw, we were really looking forward to visiting here but if you go on the Thomas Cook Santo Domingo city tour you will only see this from the road side, awful tour, do not do it.
This is not a must see, but it is worth a stop if you are spending time in the capital. The "light house" name is misleading. This is a unique [strange] bit of immense architecture not far from the zona colonial. The museum itself is not especially well done, but this is the location of the bones of Christopher Columbus.... 更多
Like the other reviews state... this is hardly worth making a day trip. We spent less than 20 mins there. Take some fotos, decide if 100 pesos is ok to pay entry and thats it. Must have been a sight to see when they actually took car of it. Kinda like a rundown pyramid now
This is our first stop on the group tour. On the sides of the buildings are names of countries in continent order. Our tour spent a little time describing the Columbus Lighthouse which is far too big to visit during a tour that had to include many stops. The guide described what is in it---including Columbus remains---and was not sure why it is called a Lighthouse (it is not even remotely shaped like one). Still. I'm glad I got to see this... 更多
