This is a review of just the beach/swimming area. I know you can take tours with Captain Goodlife, but the beach has gravely sand that is full of garbage (glass, pieces of plastic forks, etc). There is a nice gradual slope into the water, which the kids liked but to snorkel you have to swim way out and the water... 更多
Playa Santa Cruz is a beach on the Island with the most captivating story. It is the home base of the best diver and submarine world expert Juni Obersi a.k.s. Captain Goodlife. Meeting this wonderful and 100 % authentic guy will leave a lasting impression on your life. He is THE choice for 'special' tours to places you can't reach... 更多
You've heard of the famous "Blue Room" for snorkeling? Well be sure to also eat at Captain Goodlife's ristorante there with fresh-caught fish. Ps, best way to the Blue Room is on the Captain's "Antonella" boat. You won't forget this guy or this beach of his ristorante!
This beach was nearly deserted, with the exception of stray dogs. Garbage was laying around, including a soiled condom which greeted us as we stepped out of the car. Beach was full of coral, but no more so than some other beaches on Curacao. We decided to move to another beach after a few minutes.
We went to Playa Santa Cruz to go on Kaptain Good Life boat trip to snorkel the blue room and a sunken boat. His boat trip leaves everyday at 1:00 does not take reservations. Be there about 15 minutes before 1:00 as he leaves right at 1:00 and while we were leaving another couple showed up and he told them... 更多
The blue room (or blue cave) is pretty amazing. However, to get there via Captain "Goodlife" you need to be prepared to be basically neglected and take your well-being into your own hands if you go with this guy. I'm a very seasoned traveler and don't expect to be catered to, however there are fundamentals of the tourism trade that... 更多
Santa Cruz Beach itself is very average. This is really a locals beach and not set up for tourist. On the other hand, at the corner of the beach is a home on the water. This is Captain Good Life's home and business. The Captain has spent 24 years building his own oasis back in this waterfront corner of the... 更多
If you want to know all the beaches in the island, this one should be in the list, however, if you have time constraints, than you can skip it. Nothing special if compared to Both Kenepa, Cas Abou, Jan Thiel, Kalki, etc.
Playa Santa Cruz is home to a quaint waterfront restaurant run by Capt. Goodlife and his wife. As you enter the beach, look to your left for the restaurant. The fresh seafood is superbly prepared. We enjoyed grilled mahi and pan-seared red snapper.....both were fabulous. Also, Capt. Goodlife takes daily trips at 1pm and 3pm to the Blue Room and... 更多
