We stayed at Ocean Varadero El Patriarca and this cactus is just off the beach. You have to pay 2 CUC to see it. It's over 500 years old. It's just a shame that they have to try to make money off this. There is the same type of cactus plant on the way to the beach that is pretty... 更多
This rare cactus tree is 200+ years old and is located next to the Oceans Varadero el Patriarca hotel. If you are in the area, it's a nice thing to see.
If this cactus could talk, what stories it wold tell. Having lived over 500 years, through so much change and adversity, and still standing tall and strong. It is something to see.

I think you can only see this if you are a guest at Arenas Blancas or Solymar. We came upon it as we walked to the beach. It is one big old cactus.
My husband found on the Varadero map that we were very close to this famous cactus. Indeed it is a 10 minute stroll along the beach to see this very old cactus in all its glory. You will need 2 pesos to enter and be given a talk by a knowledgeable guide.
