The church here was one of the few churches that was actually open when I was walking around mid-day which was a nice change of pace. It is a simple church though a little dark for my tastes. Outside of the church is a cobblestoned plaza with cafes, a street market, and many art galleries.
I was in this plaza on a Thursday morning and found a great local tourist market. I don't know what times/days it runs, but its worth it to go there. A number of vendors sell amazing crafts that are handmade. They also have Cuba magnets and license plates. The plaza itself is colorful and quiet.
A little off the beaten path but quaint. We went into several art galleries and found the art creative and innovative and the artists very inviting. Just a short walk from Plaza Agramonte.
The Plaza San Juan de Dios is a very beautiful place to walk and visit art galleries and restaurants. Among places to visit here are Restaurant 1800, gallery of Joel Jover, the Campana de Toledo, Senior Oscar's gallery, the Cathedral, and many market stalls. This is a great place to really get the feel of Cuba.

Much later the city's most renown patriot, Ignacio Agramonte was propped up against a wall and shot after dying from his battle wounds. It is a large, cobbled square bounded... 更多
If you like browsing art galleries, and are looking for authentic art in Cuba, be sure to visit Plaza San Juan de Dios. Not only will you find art that makes a political statement, but artists who know the Afro-Cuban culture of the island. One artist in particular is Senor Joel Jover who's paintings and sculpture bravely depict another side... 更多
Just a few metres from our casa in Calle San Rafael, this wide open plaza is flanked by two restaurants and a church. Being there on the Saturday night (Easter vigil), we witnessed part of an impressive church ceremony and then had dinner sitting at a restaurant table on the plaza. It's a bit touristy with a stage and Spanish/Cuban... 更多
This square is not much used by locals, and was one of the few places with stalls of tourist tat, but they were not at all pushy. The walk to the square is full of local interest. The beggers inside the church put us off, so we left. The bar whose double doors open onto one of the short side... 更多
