great museum, exhibits curated well for kids--if you're in Hamilton, this is a must. the exhibits on natural history and treasure hunting are fascinating for adults as well
It is walkable from town or also on the bus line and just a short walk from Johnny Barnes "roundabout" . There is a wonderful place to eat lunch or dinner attached to this building with outside seating and wonderful harbor views.
Not sure how we missed this place on previous trips, but it is a great gem in Bermuda. Loved the America's Cup virtual display, don't go thru without viewing it. Great history and information here. Great for all ages. Really enjoyed it. Too bad the restaurant had a mandatory collar in men's shirts, would have been nice to have lunch... 更多
Fun and interesting attraction to see the underwater world. Great staff and a good place to visit on a rainy day. The shell display is amazing and the gift shop is great. Shuttle service to Hamilton during the weekdays.
We enjoyed visiting the BUEI on a hot Sunday afternoon. We practically had the place to ourselves! While the shell collection and the exhibit on the bathysphere were interesting, we most enjoyed the America's Cup exhibit -- very informative and very well done.
Take a walk down Hamilton's Front Street and visit this interesting Institute. When we visited, some interactive video stations were not operating, which was disappointing. However, the permanent shell exhibit and the new exhibit on the upcoming America's Cup and others were well worth the visit.
BUEI has a real variety of exhibits to suit all ages and interests. Deep sea exploration, a beautiful collection of shells from around the world, artefacts from shipwrecks throughout the centuries, and a new one from America's cup (I'm not interested in sailing and yet I found that one to be great value as well). An honorary mention to the... 更多
You learn a lot about Bermuda sea exploration, you see many treasures recovered from the sea (very cool). We especially enjoyed the America's Cup exhibit, the virtual experience, wind trends, what it takes to sail.... we experienced being in a shark cage, closest we'll come to the real deal. This is not an aquarium, there are no live exhibits.
We stopped here on our first full day on the island with our group of 7 ranging in age from 14 to 75. It served as a nice introduction to the island's formation and geology as well as the upcoming America's Cup events. My two teens had never heard of the race but were drawn in by the various interactive... 更多
We went to see the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute or “BUEI” on a rainy day. Great, because all exhibits are indoors. It has a bunch of really interesting displays to keep adults and kids busy for hours. There are displays of shells and coral. There is a room showing treasure found on sunken ships around Bermuda. There is a simulation... 更多
