It took me second to image how you could ever use a draw bridge so small. This was built for sail boats. Pretty neat when you think about it. Our Taxi Driver Rodwell "Nine Eggs" Wade (441) 734-9982 took us here as part of a private tour we took with him. It was really neat to see.
For three summers in a row we have crossed over this bridge on our way from the Dockyards cruise docks on our way to Elbow Beach. It is located on Sumerset Island in Sandy's Parish. You are across it in seconds. We have never seen it open. It was originally built in 1620. There is an 18 inch wooden plank... 更多
Supposedly the smallest drawbridge in the world, Somerset Bridge opens only 18" to let sailboat masts through. All I did at Somerset Bridge was cross it, but I think it's nice that they have preserved this little bridge from the Royal Navy's time in Bermuda.
The Somerset bridge, is the smallest drawbridge in the world..you can drive or walk over it..take some pictures ..but the fun part was feeding the big fish under the bridge.there are steps or a little path to the water..if you have kids, and know that's a place your going to stop ,bring some bread...
Hey, but if you find it, you can say that you were on the smallest little drawbridge in the world. Actually, you can't miss it, if you know where it is.
You will want to have a driver show this place off to you. If you take a tour, your sure to cross over it. If you have a friend, you will have the time to get out of the car and check this thing out. It is a small attraction. Not a world class stop, but it is in the... 更多
Smallest draw bridge in the world, Really cool little bridge right next to the Somerset bridge water sports, if your passing under it there is a red light in the water as only 1 small boat can pass through at a time.
There is a parking area unless you decided to take the #7 or #8 then you can get off and wait about 20 - 40 minutes to get the next bus. My wife and I got off the bus and check out the little area next to the bridge where kids were diving and people were relaxing with the their... 更多
Who ever knew where the world's smallest drawbridge was in Bermuda! What a treasure! We loved this stop. Built in the 17th century, it has been a stop for many tourists. You can view the Cathedral Rocks from here as well as see fish swimming in the waters at the base of the bridge. A short walk to view the... 更多
The Somerset Bridge is the smallest drawbridge in the world. It's definitely a neat place to stop and see for a moment and take pictures. It's even more awesome to do it from the water on a jet ski. Great to read the history and hear about it. Definitely stop and take a look when you are in Somerset and... 更多
