We expected to see some military artifacts and military history...we were somewhat disappointed....it was more about the history of the island's basket weaving / straw hat manufacturing way back when...then we had to pay $10 for the both of us...was so not worth it. We thought we were in an art gallery when we were looking at the exhibits...I wish... 更多
this could be a very interesting stop but they need more things to look at . only one room was open when we were there and they were starting to assemble a collection in a second. What they had was good - they just need more.
We found this place after a 3 mile hike from the ship. It should have been a 3 block hike but the map the ship gave was wrong. Anyways, it was "free" to get it in but they have a "suggested" donation fee of $5 a person. I see from other peoples posts that the price varies drastically. It was... 更多

Right before we got there... 更多

Entrance fee is $5 USD which is pretty reasonable. The lady at the counter can give you some information about the place. We explored inside where they have the historical museum and outside the fort, and found it very interesting... 更多

Not all the exhibits were in English, which is to be expected, of course! This is not a huge facility with a great deal of resources but still has some very interesting items!! The entrance fee was... 更多
Fort Zoutman , erected in 1796 , is Oranjestad's oldest building and houses a historical museum. Included in the exhibits are articles from earliest times through colonial days to the presen. An interesting place for historians.
