This is a beautiful area to visit. We walked out to the lighthouse when we stopped. The trail / road is easy to navigate. The reward at the end is the lighthouse and the scenery. Do it.
You may travel to Ferryland to visit the lighthouse or to visit the Colony of Avalon but I suggest you stop along the way to admire the scenery. We were lucky enough to have the sun shine while we were there. The combination of blue water and partly cloudy sky with green islands and colourful buildings made this one of... 更多
The road out to the parking lot had a lot of holes in the gravel road and the walk to the lighthouse is first up a steep hill. If you go make sure you have the ability to do the walking. Nice view and the walk although tough at the start was nice through a wooded section
We packed our own picnic and blankets for our Ferryland visit. A-bit-longer-than-expected but not challenging walk from the parking lot to the light house, which has just a steep ascent right in front of it. Lovely, rolling grassy land of peat and small flowers from the lighthouse to the sea cliffs. Plenty of spots for a memorable picnic! There is... 更多
We've visited a lot of lighthouses in the U.S. and Canada, and the setting for Ferryland is at the top of the list. As lighthouses go, this one is good, but not great; however, being surrounded by a dramatic coastline dotted with picturesque islands, it is hard to find a more beautiful setting. On your way in, stop at the... 更多
I was thrilled by my decision to book two nights at this little village. The B&B, Dunnes is right on the ocean and East Coast Trail. It is also a walk from the lighthouse (book your picnic months in advance) and site of the music festival. Tetley Tea Lunch room offers the best local food. We parked the car and... 更多
This place is out of this world. As you approach and see all the beautiful little islands, it will set the stage for the amazing scenery to come. You have a short walk out to the lighthouse and then will see the amazing views. Wear walking shoes and explore. It's worth the time to get here.
I really fell in love with this place! It is just amazing! Classical small town of Newfoundland/Canada, where you could be lost forever and enjoying it! Stay for a couple of days and try to unit with nature, which is everythere. It was one of places where we were able to see whales even it wasn't a season for whales!)
Was treated to a fun evening - supper choice of salmon or turkey or vegetarian. Chose salmon, average meal, then the play - Outport Taxi - very professional, hilarious. Highly recommend.
