Well it rained, the path was a tad slippy and muddy, but the view lovely. We only visited the lighthouse one by one as it was unsuitable for all of us, you are not able to actually go near the building just look down on it. After paying for parking we should have planned a good coastal walk as we... 更多
Scary drive to get here very narrow roads not for the fainthearted, you then get charged £2 for the gravel car park there is a nice cafe which is a bit pricey. You can't get into the lighthouse so only visit on a nice day otherwise a pointless trip out.
After parking the car at hartland quay,we walked the magnificent coastal path to the lighthouse. The views are amazing. Our little dog however was struggling with the hills and the sunshine, as we arrived at the lighthouse -which was our purpose and worth the walk, we saw the welcome sight of 'the point@hartland ' cafe. Sam was very welcoming and... 更多
Visited late in the afternoon. Charged £2 to park and told we had to be out by 6 pm otherwise gate would be locked! Managed to get to the top of the cliffs and see the lighthouse - in the distance. Good views I must admit but there are much nicer places on the coast to visit - I.e. Hartland... 更多
Very good walk from the car park (£2, private) at Hartland Point to Hartland Quay and back - but be warned, it is quite strenuous in places! You can get down to pebble beach in a couple of places. Check tide times.
Coastline here is part of coastal path. Views to die for. Best part is the little Cafe at entrance to lighthouse car park, a excellent range of snack meals and best bacon sarnie in Devon. Tip, park at National Trust car park approx half mile from lighthouse car park and ,no charge.Otherwise £2.00 at bottom one
Yes it costs £2.00 but it is well worth it to see the views and imagining how the light keepers lived during those stormy wintry days that go on and on. Being unmanned it is not accessible but there are good views from above the lighthouse and information boards about the history. The walk from the carpark to the viewing... 更多
It costs £2 to park when you visit the Headland but it's worth it for the view. The lighthouse is closed to the public but you can walk up behind it .
On our arrival we were stopped by an elderly lady who said there was a charge of £2 to park in the car park/gravel pit. We could only see the lighthouse from a distance because the road going to the lighthouse was blocked off. Couldn't find anywhere to eat or drink either. Very disappointed because it was a long journey... 更多
£2 to park the car then a muddy walk up a hill to cache a glimpse of the lighthouse some 300 metres away. There is no public access to the lighthouse.
