You can spend an hour or a day in this part of the park. The drive is beautiful with lots of pull outs. We picnicked at the end of the drive and then hiked the trail. The view at the end if the trail is lovely but not entirely different than any place you stop along the trail.
I am really glad we stopped to spend a few hours at Kolob Canyons. The views were spectacular and the hiking was great. I would definitely recommend visiting this place.
Very nice drive into the canyon. We started on the Middle Fork of the Taylor Creek trail but that was disappointing. Even in May there was very little water in the creek and trail was really not that enjoyable.
Although a part of Zion, it has it's own personality. Less than an hour drive from main canyon and a couple hours on the scenic drive is most definitely worth the time. Different rock & cliff formations with spectacular red color!
Kolob Canyon was great, really scenic and very few people. If you have time in a Zion visit, it's only a short distance up I-15. From the visitor's center it's about a 5 mile ride with many pull outs for pictures. We drove to the end picnic area and hiked a short trail. We were very glad we did this... 更多
Very different from the better known areas of Zion, we had a GREAT hike with BEAUTIFUL views. We passed a total of two other parties in 7 hours of hiking.
born and lived most of my 70+ years in Utah and Western Colorado. Thought I had seen it all. Have passed the kolob canyon offramp on I-15 a hundred times and finally decided to take a look at it. I have off-roaded thru southern Utah and know what it looks like and understood that this is the northern tip of... 更多
Liked the hike out to the view point. We were disappointed they were doing major work on the Kolob Reservoir RD.but it'll be done next yr. Loved the area
Have been to Zion on numerous occasions and have never stopped at the Kolob Canyon section between Cedar City and Saint George on Interstate 15. Had some extra time and decided to take a look. What a beautiful part of Zion. Not very crowded and you can drive in instead of taking a shuttle. About a 15 mile round trip... 更多
This was our 5th trip to Zion but on our previous 4 we never knew much about Kolob Canyons. So for this trip we determined this would be our main event. This was a very pleasant ride and only about 45 minutes from our motel in Springdale. It was all good road and well marked. Every time we went around... 更多
I live close to the park only 40 miles away and visit several times a year but have mostly now restricted the visits to stormy days and off season. Too many people. I hate the shuttles but there were so many visitor if you wanted to picnic you had to pack a mile away from the grotto and walk. This... 更多
