make sure you do not suffer from fear of heights/exposure when you do this one. if you do, simply walk the first part and wait for your partner when it gets tough. They provide chains to hold on to, if you need.
Yes! Do not miss out on this! However very vigorous hike especially if you go all the way. There is a drop out point about 3/4 where the pavement ends but if you want the truly spectacular view you have to go to the end. Not for the faint of heart or people not in good physical condition.
This is hike was recommended and we approached it with enthusiaum, which paid off. The trail starts low as you cross the river and walk along side it on a flat surface, but then it meanders up the side of the mountain, through a narrow stretch, and up Walter's Wiggles (switchbacks) to Scout Lookout. You feel like you made it... 更多
We caught the first shuttle on our last day at Zion. Which I would suggest to beat the crowds. The trail at the beginning was relatively flat, but that changed very quickly. Be prepared for steep switch backs well before the famous Walters Wiggle. Just take your time and enjoy the scenery, also this will help you slowly get used... 更多
My Husband and I hike with our 4 boys ages, 6,8,10 & 13. We stopped before the trail turned to a single chain to hold onto. The boys loved the view.
We hiked Angel's Landing around 7am - we probably should have gone a bit earlier than that as it was starting to get busy (Summer Solstice too). This is a trail that's pretty easy to start, and rapidly gets harder. I turned around once the ropes started with our 5 year old and 9 month old (in an Ergo baby... 更多
Don't be that person in flip flops and drinking a 20oz mountain dew on the way up, don't be that impatient jerk being dangerous and running/jumping on narrow sections. If you want to be stupid do it elsewhere, don't put anyone else's life at risk because of your actions, this includes the search and rescue teams that may have to... 更多
If I could only do one hike at Zion this would be it. Mt husband went to the top and back in 3 hours and that includes 1/2 hour on the top. It took 1 hour to get to scout lookout and honestly this was the most strenuous part of the hike. The remaining trail to Angel's landing looks much... 更多
One of the more difficult hikes I've done but it was all worth it when I got to the top. There were a few times where I avoided to look down because you're quite high up, but I just kept climbing! Definitely bring a hat or sun hat because the sun just keeps hitting you like a ton of bricks.... 更多
My 25 and 27 year old children overcame their fears and conquered Angels Landing. My extreme fear of heights could not be overcome. They include the experience as one of the best they have ever had and were proud of their achievement. I appreciated the magnificence of the landscape all the way to and all the way down from the... 更多
Do not leave your back pack/supplies/pack/bags at or near angels landing because the chipmunks will eat through your pack and eat the plastic + food in your pack. Do not feed them either. I hiked 80+ miles and camped 4 nights in Zion and our last attraction was angels landing. Instead of leaving your pack at the base of angels... 更多
Angel's landing is one of my FAVORITE hikes in the world. The fin of rock, past the chains, occurs as magical for me. The first time I hiked this trail, I was challenged by the heights and the chains and thankful for the trail's existence. The second time, I simply saw the chains as assistance, the fear was gone. I... 更多
