In the eastern USA we have forests of trees, and in Tucson they have forests of saguaro cacti. Amazing! Gotta see it to believe it. Lotta hiking trails, but we are not hikers.
Saguaro national park is a fascinating park with a beautiful information center loaded with all the information you’ll need for you visit. The center’s staff was very helpful with hiking trail information, some of which are very near the center, and other options including the “Bajada Loop Drive”, which was amazing and you get to enjoy the five mile drive in... 更多
The staff at the visitors center were very friendly. Chatted for ages. Just after we arrived, there was an announcment for a talk about bugs. We spent a half hour listening to a presentation, and talking about bugs with one of the staff specialists. Very interesting. The visitors center has a great display, and information about the desert. Even the... 更多
We visited the Red Hills visitor center at Saguaro National Park's West Tucson Mountain District in early October. The weather was warm, but not too hot, so it was a good time of year to visit the park. Right behind the visitor center, there's a special conservation area that is home to thousands of majestic saguaros. It truly is an... 更多
The purpose of our visit was to listen to a lecture on the Saguaro cactus and we were not disappointed. In the main floor theater we watched a film about the more mystical and aesthetic aspects of the cactus. When the film finished it was interesting to see the screen fold up into the ceiling to reveal a large window... 更多
We finally had the opportunity to visit and we were not disappointed! It's amazing how much life there is in the desert. Visitor center had an abundance of information and souvenirs, along with helpful staff and rangers to answer any and all questions. Next time we hope to stay longer and take advantage of some of the trails.
Stopped by visitor center and got suggestions for a day hike by a helpful ranger. Decided to hike a 2.5 mile out & back section (5 mi total) of the Hugh Norris trail. Gentle ascent with a few switch backs offered great views. Trail is well maintained and not overly populated by too many hikers. Degree of hiking difficulty is... 更多

Stunning, beautiful, amazing, breathtaking... none of these words do it justice...wow. I can't believe I got to experience this. It was the most amazing trip of my life. Great driving views, good hiking, and a... 更多
If you've come to Tucson and you want to learn a bit more, even to say spiritually, about this desert then the Rincon visitors center is the place to go. If you go to the desert museum, you're only about 3 miles away. The visitors center has a probably 9' x 9' static display of an equally sized chunk of... 更多
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We started outside taking in the view. Inside they have a cool exhibit that my 4yr old enjoyed, showing the animals in their habitat, the gift shop had some cool things, and they have a small kids area which was appreciated. It was an educational and fun stop!
