After spending sometime in the car to get to the top of this mountain it is worth spending some time in the visitor center and the surround area. The short hike to the top uses stairs to get their and has signs posted near most of the wildflowers - great way to start putting names to what you see. We... 更多
This Visitor's Center is at the highest elevation in the park via vehicle. The views are great. There is a valley just below cut by a glacier. Arrive here via the Old Falls Road.
I am giving 4 star because some stuff here is bit pricy, it acceptable thoush as it's on elevation 10k. But would have loved. Now about four starts. Get the window seat and enjoy the view. One can spent hours drinking coffee, beer and watching the beautiful scenery.
Whether you're driving up Old Fall River Road or Trail Ridge Road, the visitor center is worth a stop. There are plenty of restrooms, on both sides of the parking lot, plenty of shopping for clothing, gifts, jewelry, stuffed animals, etc., and a snack shop and coffee bar. My mom and wife love the jewelry store, which seemed to be... 更多
The park was very busy on the day that we went (Bear Lake was full) but we enjoyed our drive up to Alpine Visitor Center and highly recommend it! And you can grab some hot chocolate on chilly days!
We had taken a bus tour and this was one of the stops. The views were spectacular. It was a busy place with many interesting displays about the alpine ecosystem and the animals one might see. There was a small gift shop in the visitor center. There was a restaurant and gift shop which was on a separate building. Great... 更多
The Alpine Visitor Center is not really a destination in itself - it is more of a stop-off as you drive the amazing Trail Ridge Road/Old Fall River Road. The views from up here are amazing (especially if you take the short trail/stairs above it to climb to the highest point). However, be prepared to drive around forever looking for... 更多
Took the drive from Estes Park up to the visitor center. Long, curvy and at times, very scary, road (for me at least - I'm a chicken when it comes to heights and huge drop-offs). Once at the top saw a herd of probably 60 Elk laying over on the mountain side. One lone buck (bull) with them. Glad we... 更多
