Pics do not do it justice. The views are amazing, but I think to see the best views and possibly see some extra wildlife, get out of the parking lot and onto some of the smaller trails around the center. The trails are easy for anyone and decent shape and will give great views of the Straits and other mountains.
Majestic sights - snow capped mountains on one side and water and Seattle on the other with lots of wildlife off in the distance. Went at sunset and although it was a mid level hike on groomed trails about 1.5 miles up from the last parking lot it was so worth the effort. Our family will have it in our... 更多
We arrived just in time to hear a park ranger share their insight about the area. It was very informative. There were several deer running around the area. We took a short walk (less than 1 mile) and there were beautiful views all around. Time wise, I think we were there about an hour. There are rest rooms and a... 更多
Stop at the visitor center for a snack and water before you head out for Hurricane Ridge. This 3 mile (Round trip) trek up the ridge definitely required a little exertion for the last half mile. Then we saw a couple of men pushing strollers - one with twins - way up ahead of us AND some elderly adults as... 更多
It is a one way street to the top but it is totally worth doing it. You get great views of the Olympic Mountains. It is just breathtaking. We went there in June and you could still see the glaciers on some of the mountains. Take a short walk on the paths and you will see deer and maybe small... 更多
Wonderful view and it is worthy to drive up!! During the clear day, the view is breathtaking. However, during the days are not clear especially the visibility is low, it is very hard to see. There were a lot of deer in the area. They were just there and being part of the view. They were not afraid of human.... 更多
Hurricane ridge is a place to walk and look at the views. It is wonderful and I would recommend it. They do have a gift shop and a cafe but mostly just go for the beauty.
We went on a clear day in early June and the views were awesome. Plenty of deer and other wildlife. Keep your eyes open. We also saw two black bear. The short hikes were not strenuous and were worth the effort. It was an easy drive from Port Angeles.
