Spectacular views of the mountains and forests. Experience the diversity of the wet western slope of the Cascades and the transition to the much drier eastern side... both with fabulous scenery. Superb in the fall when the yellow, orange and yellow flare against the green backdrop of the conifers.
We travelled from Sun Mountain Lodge through to Anacortes and enjoyed the most amazing views on a beautiful autumn day with barely another car or bike on the highway. Quite possibly one of the best drives we've ever been on, although some of the routes through Dartmoor and the North Yorkshire Moors would make it a tough choice.
Due to the recent forest fires most of the trails at this park were closed but we have a goal to visit each National Park so we went anyways. The road climbs a little but nothing too hard to drive through and the views are incredible. Lots of pull offs to little side trails and the diablo lake overlook is... 更多

We did it in 2 days as we wanted to stop along the way and hike some trails. The highway has a few stop for viewpoints along the way, recommended to stop as they have good picture spots.
there is so much to see once you get out of marblemount that you might want to switch drivers at rainy pass and turn around and have the other person drive back down. Like i tell everyone when visiting a national park, you can see alot without getting out of your car but you will not get a very full... 更多
Take the time to see the PacNW World! Amazing views that remind us what beauty really means! Drive the Cascade Loop and see the peaks and valleys of the PacNW!
If you are considering a driving trip through the Pacific Northwest, I highly recommend you divert north to see the spectacular North Cascades National Park. Our visit was marked by ungodly heat (100+), so hiking was out of the question. But North Cascades offers some of the easiest beautiful views anywhere: simply drive up, park, walk a few steps, snap... 更多
