We've been to Volcanoes National Park before but not when it was as live as this time (Sept 20, 2016). When we got there, from Jaggar Museum, we could see a little bit of lava flowing but soon after, the rift got bigger and the lava eruptions higher. This Park is always worth a visit but this was amazing. We... 更多
During our visit in September 2016, we were able to view the active lava lake of the Kīlauea Volcano. It was amazing and during our visit, one of the National Park Rangers was giving a presentation of information outside in the viewing area. I am not sure of his name, but he was very interesting, knowledgeable and really animated in... 更多
This is a very beautiful area to visit and learn about the history of volcanoes in Hawaii as well as about the current volcanoes. There are activities to compliment this such as the helicopter rides where you can actually see the RED lava from the sky. Here you can see the red glow. You can hike about 4 miles down... 更多
Must see. Kids safe I was worried about the air quality. They have nice trails and stroller friendly lava tube you are able to visit. I'm told that at night the lava glow gets more intense and is great photos opportunity. Those who are able to hike 8km can get closer to the lava flow
Wow! the lava flows are incredible. Almost as if you are on another planet. We stopped at the visitor center and the Jaggar Museum. Lots of good information @ both. We saw the steam vents, and hiked through the lava tube. The ultimate experience though, was the hike out to the flowing lava. This was a workout! it was 8.3... 更多
Steam vents, active volcanoes museum, and trails. All were a great time. Certainly could spend an entire day there seeing all the sites. Lava tubes and lava arch.. Awesome, very interesting.

We then went to Hilo for dinner and back to our bead and breakfast in the volcano village. It... 更多
Fun day trip from Kailua and worth the drive. Many sites too see along the way. We stopped at the turtle beach and most southern point in the US.
While the drive up is quite long, it is very interesting - going thru the towns is very scenic and once at the volcano, it is a truly awesome view and experience. A must do - at least once - when visiting the Big Island
