Because we knew that there were only 16 parking spots at the "lot" for St. Mary's Falls, we parked at Sunrift Gorge. This added a bit to the hike to St. Mary's and Virginia Falls, but we also got to see the Gorge and Dering Falls. Along the way, we saw moose down in the water.
Only problem is finding a place to park. If you are lucky, once you park your car, plan on taking in both St. Mary Falls and then continue on past to Virginia Falls. It is not that much further, and besides, what else do you have to do? Both are well worth seeing and make good pictures. You do NOT... 更多
The hike to St. Mary's Falls is a farely short easy hike with some elevation gain. We hiked to St. Mary's Falls, then on to Virginia Falls. This is a "must-do" at Glacier in my opinion. The water is such a beautiful blue-green. There were no parking spots left at the trailhead so we drove down the road (east) a little further and parked at the Baring Falls trailhead. I'm so glad we did because the hike to St. Mary Falls from there was so pretty along... 更多
