Bowman Lake is tucked away on the west side of Glacier and is well worth the drive. Secluded from the traffic and masses, this lake offers a beautiful beach, access to kayaking and canoeing and a campground. It's a rustic location with running water and pit toilets, but the lack of luxury makes up for the majesty of the mountains... 更多
This lake is so worth the drive. It's in a less traveled part of the park. Just know that it's not on a paved road. It was such a peaceful place to spend the afternoon. There were only a handful of people there. If you want a quiet place to dream away the afternoon, this is it! Please make time... 更多
Its about a 20 min drive from Polebridge, mostly on a one lane dirt road (so timid drivers, take note), but very doable. views and solitude are fantastic, and some great hikes to be had from here. You can also camp out (with permit I believe). A beautiful place in the world, high recommend.
We recently visited Bowman Lake on our family trip to Glacier National Park. You do have to drive on some unpaved roads that are very narrow to get there but it is a beautiful lake that is worth seeing. The scenery is nice but be prepared!
Beautiful lake in a less busy section of Glacier, great place to camp if you want more seclusion. Mosquitos were bad when we visited, didn't really notice them anywhere else in the park but they swarmed us here. The road is rugged and narrow, plan for extra time to get there and back. Didn't see any wildlife, but am guessing... 更多
Getting here is a real challenge. The road is a ragged dirt mess. It's also too narrow for two cars, so if you see someone coming toward you, you have to deduce who has the better shot at backing up and getting over to the side so the other car can pass. But once you've arrived, it is a glorious... 更多
Tough drive to make it here. You must drive up the road on the west side of the park which turns to gravel. Eventually it turns to white gravel. Once you make the turn toward Bowman Lake it narrows to barely more than one lane. You can pass other vehicles, but very slowly and only on the straightaways. It is... 更多
We hit this lake due to the fact that the rest of the park was on fire at the time. This is an out of the way lake with road access, though that "road access" is open to interpirtation. The road is narrow, rutted, and at this time of the year heavily travelled which is a problem as the road... 更多
Great for hiking or riding your personal horse. Hitch racks and loading ramps in the area. Great for over night camping. I also worked in Glacier from 1969 to 1980 and again 2011 and 2012
