This is a very nice, quiet trail for a short hike and home of the friendliest tree in the National Park Service (of whom I will share a photo with my review). Nice short trail in the Royal Palm area. Completely shaded which is nice in the summer. Unfortunately that also means lots of Mosquitos. But what do you expect from the Everglades in June. This was the first place we saw an alligator in the Everglades, with the construction going on with the Anhinga trail the noise has kept the alligators... 更多
This short trail was very interesting and has a variety of trees. The identification labels are extremely helpful for those of us from out of the area.
If you're already in the area doing the Anhinga trail, you should pop over to do this one as well. There were a good amount of insects, but we didn't see any wildlife. Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable walk and a nice contrast to the Anhinga.
This is next to the Anhinga trail and in contrast, is a shady walk through the woods. The highlight for us was the mom owl feeding her baby at the head of the trail. If there is a ranger there, ask them to point them out to you. Saw some lizards on the trail and some birds in the trees.... 更多
If you already did the Anhinga Trail, you might as well do this since it's right beside it. It's a short shaded trail and if your intent is to see animals, just be prepared that you probably won't see any. It's a good recharge walk before you go to your next sight.
