We did this hike late afternoon on the way back to our hotel. It's quite short but strenuous at times. Fantastic views and a great overlook over Chimney Rock. You will need sensible shoes and plenty of water.
We loved this hike, but be prepared with plenty of water and keen eyes. It's a steep climb and I don't find this parks trails particularly well marked so watch for cairns. It is nice to climb up the trail to the height of Chimney Rock, and have an impressive view from above. The rest of the trail is not so interesting.
