There are three hikes from this parking area. The other 2 use board walks. This is the most challenging. It involves the famous ladder ascent but also walking next to a steep drop. I would not take small children here. It is still a short hike and well used. The ladder descent is more challenging than the ascent. We found... 更多

The hike is not as hard as the sign let's on. It is a short hike only 1.5 mile round trip. The terrain is rough but my family joked in sandals and tennis shoes. The sign on the trail says to use hiking boots but it is not necessary. There is a wooden top ladder that you have to climb.... 更多

The Badlands are just stunning, and this was a great way to get "up close and personal" with the unique rock formations. Unfortunately our 4-year-old totally freaked out with the rope ladder, so we weren't able to finish the trail. But what we saw we wonderful! Highly recommended for the adventuresome and fit.

Very easy to follow boardwalk, beautiful vistas all around. The rock formations make you feel like you were in another planet!

Yes the're is an intimidating ladder but I saw people in their 60's and older climbing it and it's not as bad as it looks. The rewards at the top are worth it. As you hike on, there are a few places where there are alternate routes, but the trail markers show you the easiest way. The trail officially ends... 更多

This trail is not for those with a fear of heights or who have mobility issues, but it allows one to see more than any other trail in the park. Be careful, expect to sweat, and enjoy the trip.

Exploring Badlands National Park is unforgettable! The formations are so profoundly interesting... you'll want to get out and look around! Notch Trail does require energy and effort as you hike... After winding through grasses where you can hear rattlesnakes, you'll find a log ladder that's surprisingly easy to get up, but more challenging on the way down! Be careful... I... 更多

This is a "must," but be ready to give it some energy! Coming down the "ladder" is harder than going up. Worth the trip!

This trail is so worth the hike and if you go on any trail this is the one I would choose. It isn't a strenuous hike, but its longer and you climb a log ladder. We saw two people trying to do it in sandals. You need at least tennis shoes for this hike. I would also recommend taking a... 更多
