I often take first-time visitors to our new mountain home to do some shopping in Hendersonville, and then I'll say... "come with me, I'd like to show you why we moved to the Blue Ridge!" we proceed west on 5th Ave up through Laurel Park to "The Rock" and watch them gasp in awe!
I was visiting in the neighborhood so I could walk - uphill - to Jump Off Rock. On a clear day, the view is spectacular and in the morning the valley fills up with clouds below a sunny sky. There are various walking trails which are tempting because they are all downhill. But returning would have to be the reverse.... 更多
This is our third visit to this spot - this time it was to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We wanted to take the easy Blue Trail but didn't have time. You drive up to the end of Laurel Pkwy and pass beautiful homes along the way. The drive up is curvy but shaded and pleasant. Parking is close to the... 更多
Short hikes in and around this site. Stayed locally and hiked to the summit. Can also ride bikes to this spot (up is rough, down is fast!). Have fun
Quiet reflection on your day goes well with a magnificent view of sunset across the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west. Close to Hendersonville up Laurel Parkway. Make no excuses for not going. This small park is free.
Make this a must stop at place early evening or close to sunset. I was totally open mouthed at the views and the sunset was outstanding. If you want to trail walk try to do so before it even gets to be time to think of the sun going down.
Beautiful view! If you, or someone you're with, has limited mobility this a romantic place to go, sit on a bench, and watch the sun set. The drive to get to it was twisty & turny and took a little longer to get to than I expected. Short walking trails in the woods did not have the view & had... 更多
I'm not sure what I expected on the way to Jump Off Rock, but I sure was curious after hearing and reading so much about it. Underrated? It sure is! If you are anywhere near this spot, take the time to visit. The view is breathtaking - no exaggeration! We took the winding road to Laurel Park, parked the car... 更多
My husband and I were here for the first time back in November when everything was in winter mode, so this visit was nice seeing the wonderful greenery of Spring. It was fairly hazy, but was nice to sit and enjoy such an expansive panoramic view at 3100 ft. But if into hiking, there are 3 trails to choose, from... 更多
