We camped at the National Park for 4 nights and spent a day walking to the first four sites, had our picnic and plenty of stops along the way to rest and to soak in the beauty and enjoy just being there. What a stunning place, we were there just as the roads reopened after storms, and so the gorge... 更多
The Gorge is beautiful! The main walkway is well maintained and relatively flat the whole way. To see the main sights it is at least 15km, allow 5 hours. It was very hot, take as much water as you expect to use then double it! Thankfully, we also took electrolyte replacements. Ok, that's the bad stuff! The scenery will blow... 更多
The walk up the gorge is an easy 7-8 kms to the Art Gallery with its magnificent ancient Aboriginal rock paintings, but don't do it in summer. From the gorge there are numerous side trips and the Art Gallery plus the Amphitheatre, possibly also Wards Gorge are all "must sees". Unfortunately, because it is a box canyon you have to... 更多
This place is ancient - just look at the height of the cliffs bordering what poses as a small creek - until the rains come. The moss gardens, the aboriginal art, the scenery, everything makes the trip worthwhile. Probably about 3 hours from Roma. Roads are being improved all the time.
30 degrees plus. Left 7am with x2 4yo girls and a 1 yo strapped to my chest. I'm fit. Did the walk to the art gallery, stopped in at Moss Garden on the way back. Girls were starting the 'are we there yet' in the last km - but did victory dances at the Ranger hut. They truly loved it.... 更多
day 1 hubby and i walked to cathedral cave. well worth the trip. Day 2 we went to the bluff. 900 steps up a steep grade and the 750 m walk across the top to the most amazing view. Day three we did the small walks and then Day 4 we did baloon cave and excellent place for the disabled... 更多
Go for your walks before 7.00AM and enjoy this paradise on Earth. The Cathedral, the Art Gallery, the Amphitheatre, Moos Garden and the Boolimba Bluff were our favourites. You need a minimum of two full days @ the Gorge.
This is one of the many beautiful places to visit in Australia, the various walks, hidden valleys, tranquil areas and knock out places all combine to make it a must see.
We had 1.1/2 days to explore the gorge. Our first afternoon was spent tramping to Boolimba Bluff. This involved a walk of 3.2 km each way, about 960 steps and 4 ladders, quite strenuous, but well worth the effort. Reached the Bluff and the view was noted as the Roof of Queensland to the east, and to to the west... 更多
This is my 2nd time back here and this time I wanted to do the full walk to Cathedral Cave, it's an amazing walk! From the Carpark to Cathedral Cave with 2 side tracks going to the Ampitheatre and Wards Canyon makes it over a 20 kilometre walk. The trail from the turnoff to the Art Gallery to Cathedral Cave... 更多
