Great little gem. Sweet and interesting, and the volunteers deserve medals. Full of all the facts that you would need. Also, not just for literary buffs, also good for history buffs and the clothing exhibition in the outside room was fabulous. The lady knew her stuff and made the experience that more enjoyable. Definitely going again....AT CHRISTMAS!!!
Although visited the area many times before never been here but glad we did visit this time, very interesting and very well done also on our visit very busy.
I was so thrilled to actually be in this cottage where Coleridge composed his epic poem "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" which I have loved since we studied it at school. I bought some books which were on display. The staff are so enthusiastic and knowledgeable and obviously love their subject. The cottage is well laid out and retains... 更多
The whole family enjoyed our visit to Coleridge Cottage. We felt immediately welcomed by the friendly on site team who were keen to help us learn about Coleridge. They engaged with our children (9 and 6) straight away and gave them the children's trail as well as a short introduction to the poet. We were then given more information about... 更多
Very interesting property once lived in by the poet Samuel Coleridge. It is small by comparison to other places but the staff have made huge efforts to make it welcoming and interesting with lots of information to read and listen to in the house and the gardens behind. It is not possible to get into the property in a wheelchair... 更多
The staff at Coleridge Cottage make this place come alive! It is small, well laid-out and very informative, but the staff are just amazing - so keen on their subject, so well-informed ... they just make the whole place come alive! Allow about an hour for your visit - we allowed two, but that was too long.
This place has won awards as a tourist attraction and it's easy to see why. Helpful and knowledgeable volunteer guides Well laid out and clearly labelled authentic relics of Coleridge himself. The cottage is small but they maximise the space well including a room where you put on a pair of headphones and relax in a comfy chair listening to... 更多
The National Trust has done well. It's another place where you are allowed to touch and try on - great idea. The well is amazing - not sure how deep but you can see the water at the bottom. The garden is lovely.
From the moment we arrived at Coleridge Cottage the staff and volunteers could not have been more friendly or welcoming. The two guides were dressed in period costume and were very informative and knowledgeable. Their enthusiasm was infectious. Our knowledge of Samuel Taylor Coleridge was somewhat lacking and I suspect our teenage son may have known more than we did!... 更多
