We had been here in the month of April 2015, and was worth a visit. you can see the 7 colors of the soil in at this particular place. You have an entry fee of 200 Mauritius Rupees. This place also has restaurant. You can sit there relax and enjoy the view
This is a fantastic natural phenomenon which has occurred to the earth. It was interesting to see and understand but that's about it. There is a cafe on sight along with a small gift shop and two viewing platforms. There are some giant tortoises there too, but not on the scale of La Vanille. These ones don't look to have... 更多
The colours do depend upon the sunlight hitting the earth and, I guess, the time of day. It's a long and dreadful road into the site but it is worth seeing, but be warned that if it's a dull day the colours will be difficult to make out I think.
really a must visit place....its nice to see a piece of land shaded in different colors by nature. it has been shaded because of chemical reaction. when sun light falls on it, the colors become more distinct and bright....
What a wonderful creation of the god almighty. It should be considered as another wonder of the world. But Mauritius should improve the information's on important tourist spots. Lack of sign boards misleaded us many times especially on the way to Chamarel.
I loved it since the moment we arrived. We started off with seeing so many interesting plants and scenes, and also a beautiful waterfall. When you reach the colored earth part it's really amazing and you can take beautiful pictures. Little hills which gives you an interesting view. Visiting this place won't take that much long but on the way... 更多
On arriving we saw the waterfall, which was lovely, especially from the viewing tower. Make sure it's a sunny day...the sun makes such a huge difference to the colours, which were beautiful.
The road leading to the destination is terrible. If you take into account your entrance fee payable and what you get in return they can surely repair the road. The waterfall before reaching the coloured sands are way more interesting and beautiful. Information is lacking at sites, thus you do not get a real feel or the informed background you... 更多
This trip is included in our itinerary with other sightseeings. You first see the Charamel Waterfalls which is a picturesque sight. The coloured earth is very awesome and you can see different shades from different angles. It is the only sight in the world.
It's coloured earth, not much more to say. Interesting for a couple of minutes, nice grounds to walk around with a few giant tortoises mixed in. Small gift shop and a café area. You need to have a vehicle or taxi to get here and you do go past the Chamarel Waterfall which is a very picturesque sight.
Don't make a special trip but its worth adding in as part of another journey. The giant turtles are great to see although the way some visitors touch them is disgusting.
