If you want something a little less taxing than the nearby munroes but are still willing to face a steep climb, this is a great walk. There are great views of Loch Maree and surrounding hills from the top, and the woodland and streams you encounter on the way down are lovely. It only takes about for hours.
I did this hike in July '15. Wow! So worth the effort! Fantastic views throughout! Must go well prepared, especially with suitable footwear, as parts were a tough climb. The path and cairns were easy to follow especially if you take the leaflet about the walk with you, you know exactly where you are throughout so fidnt need my OS... 更多
Did this on a Motorcycle with some friends as we were on a trip to complete North Coast 500. The proprietor of the Kinlochewe Hotel recommended this trial.and we were so grateful as it is a exciting and interesting ride. The weather was fantastic which enabled us to really enjoy the experience and take loads of photographs. Always be mindful... 更多
We walked this with our dog. It is steep, and is places the drops warranted putting our dog on the lead. There is 1900ft of climb on this walk but the views are spectacular. Took us about 3 hours and we do a reasonable amount of walking.

I'm terrified of exposed heights but this was fine. Amazing views, really well set up path (something that Scotland could do with more of!). Once you get to the top, a lovely ramble... 更多
Went to loch maree to look for sea eagles and didn't see anything. As we headed back to the car we seen there was a trail walk so we decided to go have a wee look. We loved it so much that we just kept going and done the whole loop. It is very steep climb but well worth it.... 更多
This review is for the Woodland Trail not the Mountain Trail (we only had an hour to spare on our journey out of the Highlands), but I wanted to write to say how excellent this was. Not only were we blessed with incredible weather which made the views over Loch Maree and Slioch all the more stunning, we all agreed... 更多
Watch the weather to ensure that you have a breeze, or the Midgies will eat you alive. Fantastic scenery starts very soon on this walk which makes it all worthwhile.
first things first: this is not a walk! It is as much a climb as a trek and the way up is very steep. When we went up we were passed by two other groups going down because they could not complete th ascent. We have climbed Monroes that are much easier than this. Howvere the views from the plateau... 更多
