I had spent about a month in the area 11years ago on my first trip to Australia and loved the beach and the area. Great holiday spot has everything you need the rooms are nice and clean the views fantastic would recommend this hotel anytime upgraded to the penthouse when we arrived with a private rooftop spa and bbq
We discovered this beach purely by accident after being invited to a local cafe for breakfast. This beach was largely deserted. The pristine sand was very inviting and the surf also. The section near the surf club is dog on leash only. Worth a visit if you want an uncrowded sunbathing and surfing spot.
The Ramada has a path down to the beach, just along from a stretch which is patrolled. The water has some waves, but should also be OK for swimming. Great stretch for walking.
I stayed at ramada hotel which is right on Marcoola beach. This is a gorgeous part of the Sunshine Coast. It does has life guards on duty. Quiet part of the beach but patrolled and safe between the flags. Dogs on leashes are allowed but as with all of the beaches around here the irresponsible owners let their dogs loose and spoil the beach for others.
Marcoola is much quieter than any of the neighbouring beaches on that stretch of coastline. It is essentially in a small residential pocket under the airport flight path.
