This tourist attraction is perfect for families and children. There are fishing poles with cucumbers on them that you fish with. If you are lucky, you will catch the folklore legend: THE KAPPA! This is a beautiful area for a picnic, as it is a very shaded/flat area. It is beautiful to visit in the Fall/Spring. Enjoy this Mystic Legend!!
If you're not interested in the mythology of kappas, then this place might get lost on you. In front of Kappabuchi is Jokakoji temple, which is small but still interesting with its kappa statues. Basically there's nothing to see here. It's just a stream round the back of a temple. It's also quite hard to find as the signposts disappear when you get to the area. We got directions from locals but it wasn't worth it. Don't bother!
This is a nice place to come to learn about the little kappa creatures that are favored in the old folktale legends. I really loved this places. You could have a nice lunch and wait for one to appear.......maybe. :-)
