We visited out of season so I think we were the only ones in the reserve. The lighthouse provided the backdrop to some good photos although we did not go up it as it was closed for renovations. We then drove from bay to bay enjoying the power of the sea breaking on the rocks and the birds (mainly cormorants)....
Friendly and helpfull staff, the trip up to the to of this piece of South african history is worth the nerve wrecking stairs/ladders you need to climb to get to the top. Then the view awaits you over the whole west coast area
This was a disappointing tourist spot - it is beautiful from the point of being by the sea, other than that no! The nature reserve is ordinary and the lighthouse is the main attraction. Their website posts opening times but we went twice to be turned away because it was closed. Get your act together guys!!!
Visited the campsite with the idea of camping. It had a lot of rubbish lying around. It felt like you would be camping at a rubbish dump. Had a look at the ablutions. Also did not look clean.
The sea views are great.
I have visited this space frequently over the past 16 years. We went there during the last weekend and I was disturbed by the amount of filth in this Nature Reserve. I ended up picking bottles baby nappies food wrappers. I fortunately had a spade with me to collect layers of broken glass bottles next to of the most beautiful...
