If you want to visit somewhere completely different this is the place! A crumbling ( certainly) gem in the centre of a lovely little town. The legend has it that the original owner was a hunchback whose wife took many lovers. In revenge he commissioned a sculptor to produce grotesque caricatures of her lovers with which he decorated the garden... 更多
A very, very long time ago it was a unique and delightful palace. But now it is a complete ruin. A very sad picture of shameful neglect and lack of care. There are to see only three rooms in a terrible state, destroyed and devastated. The small garden looks better, but figures, although interesting, are also very damaged. Not worth... 更多

First this is located right off the main square which trip advisor makes you think it is not. It was worth the trip thru town and the crazy streets. Loved the statues and the inside of the palace. It was run down but still very interesting.
Nice baroque villa in the centre of Bagheria. Park to the West of the pedestrian zone and walk along Corso Umberto 1 to the villa. Impressing although not beautifull statues round the villa. The villa itself need a makeover, but it will be extremely costly. Decay can also be beuatifull!

Bagheria is not far from the city of Palermo, 20 minutes by car, and here the main attraction is Villa Palagonia. A very unique 18th century home, built in the grotesque style with gargoyle-esque statues surrounding the villa. As it is a private building, visitors are only able to visit the gardens and 3 rooms. The main room, the room... 更多
I loved this place .for its history and its atmosphere. Surrounded by modern day housing , stepping in you are immediately in another century ; surrounded by grotesques and with peeling ceilings and walls . Read more
You are not likely to see this place during a standard Palermo excursion, so put everything away and go to Bagheria on your own! This place is beyond any words - it's amazing! This villa does not resemble anything I've seen before. It's a masterpiece of Italian mannerism style which would equally be a perfect location for a Dracula movie... 更多
