Great location, fabulous views really fun for kids of all ages. A lot of castle to explore as its not just an empty shell. Often have special events on which are worth doing.
We love Warkworth Castle and we have been many times. We visit with three children aged 4,7 and 10 and always find something exciting we didn't notice on previous visits. Pick up an audio tour from the reception and walk around the castle first to find out all about the Percy family and all the exciting times at the castle.... 更多
Had a great day out with the kids. The kids loved exploring the ruins of the castle. They also loved exploring inside the castle in the wine cellar and the great hall. Parking is £3.10 but this is refunded with admission. There also picnic tables to have lunch.
We enjoyed our visit to Warkworth castle and its grounds and found it interesting. We stayed at a guest house in the village so wewalked but there is parking outside the castle. There is an audio commentary if you wanted it.
We visited the castle, who allow dogs, we weren't offered an audio tour which was disappointing and if it hadn't been for the guide book it would have been seriously dull. Another great North East Castle. The main keep is well preserved and is a maze of rooms and passages. Try to find the secret stairways between floors ! You have to pay to park but you get the money back when you go in to the castle.
Very interesting castle. Plenty of parking right outside so no long trek up hills. A great space inside the castle children really running round and enjoying the fabulous spaces. A real castle atmosphere. A free audio guide explained the life and times of the castle. As I said we enjoyed it that much we joined English Heritage. Enough said!
